This year Veuve Clicquot released its first La Grande Dame since the 1998 vintage. The Champagne house also used the launch event to unveil La Grande Dame Rosé 2004. Chef de cave Dominique Demarville suggested that future vintages could contain a much higher proportion of Pinot Noir.

La Grande Dame is Veuve Clicquot’s prestige cuvée. The first vintage, of which only 6,000 bottles were made, was 1962, and the first to be released commercially was 1966, launched in 1972.

The brand has also tapped into the big events happening in the UK this year. Veuve Clicquot has partnered with the World Duty Free Group to bring the vibrancy of “The Season” to London Heathrow’s Terminal 5.

Travellers visiting the WDFG store can sample a Champagne lifestyle, watching footage of the Polo Gold Cup in the UK, Design Week in Milan, the Polo Classic in New York and Los Angeles and Les Voiles de Saint Tropez in France.

Natal was founded on 25 December 1599, hence its name (Natal means Christmas in Portuguese). Unlike other Northeastern capitals, it did not quite benefit from the economic boom resulting from the region’s sugar cane production. Instead it grew moderately and more organizedly, burgeoning on the state’s cattle-raising activities and salt and oil extraction.
Nowadays Natal is one of the 8 most visited cities of Brazil. Unlike other large cities of the Northeast of Brazil, like Recife or Salvador, Natal does not have a fascinating Historical Center or a vivid nightlife. In contrast, it is regarded as being significantly calmer and safer than other large cities in the region, and as having a superior quality of life. Many rich Brazilians and foreigners alike have summer houses in the city.
One of the primary reasons to visit Natal is to use it as a base to explore the wonderful state of Rio Grande do Norte, including beaches like Pipa, Baía Formosa, Barra do Cunhaú and Genipabu, Muriu Beach and lakes like Carcará and Coca-Cola (See [#Get out]). The city has many lodging options and good and reasonably priced restaurants.

Natal is the region’s state capital with a large middle class population and large shifts in demographics. As the overall economy grows, this ultimately drives housing and infrastructure projects. With its convenient location out of the city and access to some of the most beautiful beaches in the world, many plots of the litoral beaches are pre-sold to families who no longer wish to live in typical high rise apartments found all over Brazilian cities and to second home owners from the south of Brazil and Europe. ‘Why Europe?’ is an obvious question. Natal is building a World Cup stadium currently under construction and the airport provides direct flights from Europe including the UK. With a major airport expansion, direct flights from Heathrow and Gatwick are also planned. Being the closest major Brazilian city to Europe at six hours flying time, this region will soon be on the radar for cheap guaranteed winter sun.

When you fly over Rio de Janeiro is when you feel God is in the Air! So much natural beauty and magic that take my breath away… The spirit of Rio lifts you up… Just wonderful!

Everytime I arrive in Rio I feel like kissing its ground like the Pope … My heart does not stop beating… Overwhelming energy…

The most beautiful city in the world! Sea, Mountains , lakes and everything else embraces you with the Rio spirit…
I am in Rio and find myself with a smile on my face everywhere I go in love with this Gorgeous views everywhere I turn and that patience of mother nature to those that are not so kind hoping that they wake up and notice what God created for the cariocas and the world!

The Cristo Redentor welcome the world with its open arms that never closes … I love Rio and you will too
